Eight owners who could enjoy the yacht for a period of five weeks per year without the bother of managing it. Luxury was one of the starting points for the design, although the great challenge was to succeed in giving an extremely natural and relaxing character to the space.
The first presentation of the design took place in one of the customer’s resort in the Maldives where Stefano had the chance to test his experience and feel the sensations that the client was looking for.
What struck me was, the naturalness with which the materials had been used to construct the resort, by the quality and use of local materials, in particular, coconut wood. I admire when people can use the materials found in place, exploiting their great physical capacities of resistance to humidity and water, with ingenuity. In fact, I discovered that coconut wood is a wood with a very similar look to teak, which oxidizes and turns grey by the light of the sun. Given its porous fibre, its ability to resist damp and water is impressive.
